Art from the Heart: How Custom Helmets are Fueling the Fight Against Childhood Cancer

The episode starts with David discussing the incredible success of Curing Kids Cancer with Grainne Owen, which has raised a total of twenty-eight million dollars. Grainne reflects on how Curing Kids Cancer started from humble beginnings at her kitchen table. The conversation then shifts to the inspiring story of a young boy named Killian, who needed CAR T-cell therapy. David emphasizes the miraculous nature of this treatment and how it can provide hope to families facing difficult situations. David shares the heartwarming story of "Little Man," the grandson of a Mecum customer, who was able to receive CAR T-cell therapy thanks to the connections made through the auction. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia played a crucial role in his treatment. Grainne expresses her belief in "God-sidences" rather than coincidences, highlighting the role of divine intervention in bringing people together and creating positive outcomes. The episode also features the re-auction of a custom-painted Kirsh helmet by Havana Customs. The helmet had previously been purchased by Mike Wolfe for $17,000, and this time it sold for $20,000. Havana Customs had won a prize for having the best helmet, as voted by the internet.
